Viñedos y bodega de Bodegas Alejandro en Monóvar, Alicante

Our story

One family, one land, and one history that lives on.

Some stories begin with a date. Ours began long before that.

Generation after generation, our family has cultivated vineyards in Monóvar, nurturing a winemaking philosophy based on patience, respect for the land, and meticulous craftsmanship. In 1982, Alejandro Pérez Martínez decided to take the next step and founded the winery that now bears his name, transforming decades of family experience into a project with its own unique identity.

Today we continue along the same path, combining tradition, knowledge and a look towards the future to produce wines that reflect our origin.

The origins

Roots that come from afar

Long before the winery existed, the vineyards were already there. Our great-grandparents dedicated their lives to cultivating vines in the Alicante countryside, passing down from generation to generation a knowledge that cannot be learned from books: understanding each plot, interpreting each harvest, and respecting the rhythms of nature.

In 1982, Alejandro Pérez Martínez consolidated that family legacy by creating the winery. His desire to produce and bottle his own wines marked the beginning of a new era that continues to this day.

The soul of the house

Fondillón: our greatest legacy

If there's one wine that defines our history, it's Fondillón. Considered one of Spain's great historical wines and exclusive to Alicante, Fondillón has been part of our family's identity for decades. Its production requires time, patience, and a dedication that few things can match.

In our cellar, we maintain an important collection of historic barrels that have held Fondillón wines for generations. Some of them contain wines that were first aged in the 1970s, and today they stand as authentic witnesses to the passage of time.

More than a wine, Fondillón represents a way of understanding our craft: respecting the legacy received in order to pass it on to those who will come after.

The land that defines us

Our vineyards

It all begins in the vineyard. Our plots are located near Monóvar, in the heart of the Medio Vinalopó region, an area historically linked to viticulture. The inland Mediterranean climate, the altitude, and the limestone soils all contribute to producing grapes with character, balance, and aging potential.

We work with varieties deeply linked to our territory, especially Monastrell and Merseguera, along with other varieties that complement our vision of Alicante wines.

We believe that quality isn't created in the winery. It's cultivated year-round among the vines.

Tradition and present

A family-run winery in constant evolution

Today, the winery remains a family project. The new generation works alongside Alejandro, upholding the values that have defined the winery since its inception: respect for tradition, a pursuit of quality, and a commitment to the land.

We incorporate the necessary improvements to continue evolving, but without losing what has brought us here. Because we understand that innovation only makes sense when it helps preserve the essence.

Each wine we produce is the result of that combination of experience, dedication, and family continuity.

Our way of making

Time, care, and patience

Our philosophy is simple: intervene only when necessary and listen to what each harvest has to say. From grape selection to aging, every stage of the process is carried out with the aim of respecting the character of the raw material and faithfully expressing the origin of our wines.

We're not trying to make more wine. We're trying to make better wines.

More than four decades after the winery was founded, we continue to work with the same conviction that drove our family from the beginning: to make wines that speak of our land, our history and the people who have made it possible.
