01 — Origin

The expression of an exceptional vineyard

Arbui V·47 comes exclusively from historic Monastrell vineyards over 50 years old, trained in the traditional bush vine system and on their own rootstock. This combination of age and growing conditions results in a raw material of extraordinary concentration and depth.

The soils, primarily limestone with clay and stone, along with very limited yields—between 1.3 and 1.8 kg per vine—are key to the wine's character. Each bunch is hand-selected to ensure maximum precision and balance in the grapes.

02 — Production and breeding

Depth without losing finesse

After a brief cold pre-maceration, fermentation proceeds slowly with indigenous yeasts at a controlled temperature. Extraction is carried out gently, aiming to achieve depth and structure without sacrificing the inherent elegance of Monastrell.

After malolactic fermentation, Arbui V·47 spends 18 months in 500-liter French oak barrels. This extended aging allows it to gain complexity and structure as the wood gradually integrates into the wine.

Tasting notes

View: Deep, intense cherry red color.

Nose: Expressive and complex, with red and black fruit in the foreground, accompanied by spicy, balsamic notes and subtle floral nuances.

Mouth: Full-bodied and elegant, with fine, silky tannins, integrated freshness, and a balanced texture. Its finish is long, precise, and persistent.

03 — Identity

The value of old vines

V·47 is born when the vineyard reaches a size that cannot be replicated from one year to the next. More than half a century of adaptation to the land, very low yields, and rigorous selection make each harvest a unique interpretation of these historic vines.

It is a wine conceived to show how far Monastrell can go when the origin, the raw material and the time of preparation are taken to a level of maximum demand.

Pairing and service

Especially suited to red meats, game, slow-cooked stews, traditional dishes, and aged cheeses. Its structure and depth allow it to complement intensely flavorful dishes. It is recommended to serve between 16 and 18 °C.

Powerful and flavorful on the palate, with a pleasant aftertaste. We drank it at a restaurant in Casas del Señor, accompanied by a delicious rabbit and snail rice dish!
